# Kona Kai Resort & Marina

GMP provided professional landscape architectural design services for the Kona Kai Resort & Marina located on the waterfront of the San Diego Harbor in San Diego, CA. This 11-acre resort was completely renovated in 1995 with all new landscaping, pool areas, beachfront, and outdoor gathering areas. GMP’s designs provided for a new hotel entry, fountains and water features throughout the resort. Additionally, our designs provided for new landscaping for a new gated parking area, pedestrian walkways and connectivity links, resort-style pool, beach area with volleyball courts, outdoor meeting and wedding venues, public and private patios and courtyards.The landscaping provided for a lush, tropical paradise with over 100 mature palms and flowering trees. The overall style is a lush Mediterranean setting with 23,000 sq.ft. of outdoor meeting areas.
